Overview
In the not-too-distant future the Bible has been outlawed in the United States of America and replaced with a government approved bible. A group of seven Christians from Indiana, are asked to smuggle the true Word of God to underground churches in Kentucky, Illinois, and Ohio. With Homeland Security hot on their trail, the smugglers must be willing to risk it all for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Communism must have absolute authority therefore it cannot coexist with religion which can and will contradict the government. This reality for people in many nations and their stories were what inspired director Brett Varvel and writer Josh Strychalski to make, ‘Disciples in the Moonlight. The movie takes place in the near-distant future. It follows the theme, ‘What would you do if America banned the Bible?’ In addition, they provide a less offensive version alternative while removing the real Bible.
