Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Salaar 2’ was in the news recently after reports of the film being shelved went viral. The makers of ‘Salaar’ shared a throwback photo from the sets of the prequel to laugh at the rumours doing the rounds. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the shooting of ‘Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam’ was supposed to commence in the summer of 2024. However, the makers haven’t shared any update regarding the film.

Responding to the rumours, the official X (formerly Twitter) page of ‘Salaar’, shared a photo of Prashanth and Prabhas from the shooting spot. They captioned the photo, “They can’t stop laughing. #Prabhas #PrashanthNeel #Salaar (sic).” It was reposted by Hombale Films, the production house of ‘Salaar’.
The sequel of the film, titled Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, is in active development.[103] In January 2024, Kiragandur confirmed that the script is ready and that the sequel will release in the second half of 2025.

After wrapping his film with Jr NTR, Prashanth Neel will kickstart ‘Salaar 2’ with Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The actors and director have spoken about the sequel in several interviews and are excited to join forces again.
